It should still be that way for all horror movies. Keep your "monster" a mystery for the viewers to find out at home or the theatre. Trailers that show the creatures really take away too much of the first time viewing.

Didn't Universal do the same thing with Karloff in Frankenstein? In fact, the list of cast members in the opening credits reads "The Monster..........?" So cool.

What's amazing is how little makeup Chaney used. False teeth, a wire to pin his nose up and black paint.

previews, these days, give WAY too much away for a film.

Brilliant! (This reminds me of a movie called Creep where the actress didn’t see the actor playing Creep until her character got her first look of him in order to get a genuine reaction of his horrible face).

Stroke guaranteed. I saw myself like I was running out of the place as quick as possible.

Surprised me.

I think things would still be the same if it wasn't for the increasing cost of a ticket. You have to show ALMOST everything now just to get people to see a movie in a theater to justify the ridiculous prices they charge these days.
