27 years on and I can still hear the sound of the Sandman's wings. Fantastic animation, creepy as fuck.

I recall watching this waaay back on MTV's cartoon sushi or Liquid Television. I was so mystified and didn't get to watch it again until years ater when it ended up on Atoms films and then YTube.

I remember that. :) After the red color, the boy has his orbits empty. And the sandman holds the eyes in his hands.

Absolutely loved this when it came out. I remember seeing it on Channel 4 and it was proceeded by a short interview with the guys who created it. The soundtrack is as chilling as the story and animation. Brilliant work.

I remember seeing this on tv as a kid, and it traumatized me. I haven’t seen this in probably 20+ years, and after seeing this post I’m immediately feeling that dread I felt all the way back then. This one woke up some demons I forgot I had hahaha.

I was born in Germany and one of the few things I remember from there is a little show on TV at bedtime about the Sandman. Def was not so scary or cool as this. Lol

Could be based on E.T.A Hoffmann's "Der Sandmann". It's quite an interesting book. If you know German, it's a good read and gives a little insight in the early views of mental illness.
