I remember buying the comic books that contained the first two illos--Creepy, I think, back in 1965(?). In '63, I bought an E. R. Burroughs paperback that also used his work (see below). That was my intro to him.pic.twitter.com/ezMQoGNVHt

Definitely grew up seeing his art. Used to get Creepy, Eerie, Vampirella and Heavy Metal comics along with movie magazines (Famous Monsters, Fangoria, Starlog & Cinemagic) and I used to see his art a lot. Also used to see it on covers of fantasy novels as well.
