Oy. Horrifying to think about how BAD things got during the plague. The monuments throughout Europe are so visually disturbing. And to think that HERBS were the main precaution. Must have been so nightmarish to be a doc in those days.

Definitely need to put purify in quotes there... But miasma was a "reasonable" scientific explanation back then too so.. Who knows?
