What I love about these cards is that in all of the scenarios depicted, it is assumed the dinosaurs just suddenly popped out of nowhere

There are a lot of close-ups of faces in that card series. I like to think the artist used his friends as models, but wonder if the friends appreciated seeing themselves gored and consumed by monsters when the paint dried.
