I love seeing L.A. in the 20s.
-
The lobsters were much bigger back then
-
And knowing that those bungalows in Silver Lake/Hollywood were about $3,000 and are now $803,000.
-
Yup. When did housing prices really get out of control? I I know you could get a nice home on a regular job in the 1980s.
-
They went out of control beginning in the mid to late 80s. There is very little inventory and beach adjacent areas have perfect climates.
-
Yeah, my brother's ex father-in-law bought a home in the early 80s on an average salary that today would sell for about what you said.
-
He can now live on his investment, really.
-
Yep. His wife stayed at home and they raised three daughters on just his salary, which is simply not a choice young couples have today.
