I have one Australian friend and one friend who lived in Australia for a year. They both say the same thing: When bicycling in Australia you wear a helmet, not in case you have a fall, but in case of magpies. The magpies there are FUCKING NUTS.

I really like a lot of things about Australia but some of the birdlife there is nuts. Giant parrots will literally eat your wooden house. Cassowaries may kill you I don’t know I only saw one once and it was ugly mean. All the ibis I saw looked like they were on meth.
