I don't know why this makes me laugh so much. Those corvids are super smart and up to something, but I don't know what it is. Until I do, I'll enjoy their antics.

It's a diversionary tactic. They annoy the predators to get at their food.

Okay since there's an actual expert here I have to ask: I was guessing that tails might just move in ways that resemble the way a thing the corvid might want to eat would move (e.g. struggling/escaping small rodent). Kinda like with cats. Am I on the right track at all?

I saw someone else in the comments say they do this with the purpose of distracting another predator, so they can steal their food...prob wanna fact check that tho.
