Started to try to explain/describe the film to some of my college daughter's friends. Didn't get very far. At first I thought it was the age difference but then realized - how is anyone supposed to explain/describe this movie, esp to kids who don't know who David Lynch is?

In my favorite part of this movie, Lynch seems to laugh at his own perception of strangeness, when Mary X is leaving him... he's sitting on the bed and she reenters the room, squats at the end of the bed and starts jarring and shaking it, so odd, only to reveal...
