Does their visitors pamphlet tell you how these bones were acquired? Do we want to know?

1. The Plague 2. The 30 years war 3. Some dude went to the holy land, brought some soil back and spread it over the cemetery so everyone wanted to be buried there but they ran out of space in the ground (Yes the pamphlet does tell you that)

One thing people don't mention about this place, and that is crucial for the entire experience, is that it's COLD. Being surrounded by tons of bones and seeing smoke come out of your breathe makes you feel like you're on hell's entrance lobby.
-
Definitely not the case during the summer

-
I was there on late March and, now that you've mentioned it, it was freezing cold on Prague...Anyways, I'll always think of there as a cold place made to please cold hearts. :)
-
Hahaha I won't argue with you there!

The chandelier's claim to fame is that it contains at least one of each bone in the body. There are also piles of skulls taller than a person, and an incredibly metal representation of the Schwartzenberg coat of arms done in bones. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sedlec_Ossuary#/media/File:Kostnice03.jpg …
-
The lower right quadrant of the coat of arms is a bone raven (wings made from human hands) pecking the eyesocket of a skull. \m/
