I was in Mali in West Africa in the Peace Corps in 2004. A huge storm started, and we all ran for this cement schoolhouse. My friend said, "Don't look down," but I did, and there were lots of tarantulas running for alongside us.

A species of Huntsman. A true spider unlike tarantulas. All harmless. Basically teleports. Definitely creepy.

I know. So harmless. But when I turned on my headlamp and they were all on the wall just sitting there I wanted to die.
