I think this was the first movie to genuinely give me nightmares when I was a kid. The scene with him stretching out of the wall made me terrified to close my eyes.

I’ll never forget seeing the video box cover for the original A Nightmare on Elm Street. I was obsessed with wanting to see the movie. I was 7, 8 years old, tops, when I first saw it. Scared the crap out of me, but in my top 5 horror films, probably forever.
