@Robert_Cop2 I have to tell you about a random big lizard encounter when I lived in Texas later.

Yes please!!

1) So I used to work at the office/warehouse of a local chain video/magazine/novelty store in Austin. Looked like a big storage shack, functional but nondescript structure in a big yard that wasn’t mowed quite as much as it needed.

2) Saw wildlife around before. One time a mama skunk was killed by traffic up the road&her babies were right at the age where they might make it independently, so in that usual field of too tall grassy weeds I saw baby skunk tails poking up like flowers as they foraged for bugs.

3) Another time as I was about to arrive, there across the street an eagle with a huge wingspan dramatically swooped in from out of the sky, grabbing a squirrel, ascending with the poor guy to it’s fate :/ Breathtaking and awful at the same time.

4) A exotic pair of Burmese looking kittens, black with auburn highlights, long swan necks and high cheekbones came into the employee back entrance&acted like they owned the place. Owners fostered them&found homes for them later. They’d visit my office&climb the carpeted walls.

5) so anyway, the lizard..( just had to share (some) of the other animal encounters too

6) So this was a very-overdue-for-a-weedy-grass-cutting time. The backyard sidewalk path barely bisected the arched chest high growth. I was annoyed passing through it thinking I’m going to get ticks.
