Rocks on the lake Baikal in Russia get heated from the sunlight every now and then and melt the ice beneath. After the sun is gone, the ice turns solid again thus creating a small stand for the rock above. It is called the Baikal Dzenpic.twitter.com/DjT7cZflU2

There's some aerodynamics going on here too. The rock and its pillar have formed an obstruction to the wind (from the left). A horseshoe vortex forms and pulls slightly warmer air down to the ice, resulting in the trough around the windward side.

The lake is mysterious and region so bizarre with the freezing cold weather, the water is so dark when its unfrozen. Provides much food for the area. It’s nearly untouched.

Lake is frozen. High wind can scoot rock across surface. Similar to sliding rocks of Death Valley.

Is it wind which does that to those to the Death Valley rocks? I thought scientists determined that they are somehow magnetically attracted to the aura of Burning Man.

Yeah, and Russia is building plants on and near this lake to pump its water to China despite all the protests of locals, who actually care about ecology and the wellfare of so-called by the government "nature monument". So, there is not much time left for this beaty to exist(
