The fact a lot of his art was engraved rather than just painted makes my respect for him even deeper.
Same with albrecht durer! These guys carved thier artwork inverted (maybe not the right word? Lol) into wood slabs, then dipped in ink to put them on parchment! Pure talent!
Exactly what I was going to say,to this day those two remain my idols in artform, I could only dream to achieve such unique and amazing detail and talent.
1. Lucifer 2. David and Goliath 3.The Vision of the Valley of Dry Bones 4.Bertrand de Born Displaying His Head
Perfect for Dante.
We had a copy of his Bible In Pictures when I was a child. His art fascinated me.
The 4th image is an illustration on (La Commedia) Inferno Canto XXVIII. That's Bertran de Born displaying his head as a punishment that fit the crime which is turning Prince Henry against his father
What’s the 4th drawing about?

Siempre me han gustado sus ilustraciones...
My inability to read made me very impressed that a 1-year-old drew all this
