Not to be confused with the Tumblr pigeons. They are WAY different...

Who’s to say that other birds can’t do backflips mid flight and just choose not to flex on the other birds

Tumbler Pigeon: Observe. Other birds: Weird flex but ok.

For those curious as to why they do this like I was — having looked it up, multiple sites state no one knows what neurological cause makes them do this....saved you a search 😉

I thought it was a form of avoiding predators. I remember watching a documentary where they showed that one extreme tactic of avoiding a peregrine falcon's attack is changing direction in the last second. Those weren't tumbling but i thought this behaviour might derive from it.

Maybe, but I’d imagine it be tough for it to pull off the backflip midchase. Be sick if someone could catch it on camera tho

Yeah, i think these backflips are obtained only through selective breeding but can be derived from that behaviour, of rolling in the air.https://youtu.be/_f88jfyRL68?list=LLt0vyqyLGSch_6XkEDJPvow&t=39 …

Tumblers, or Rollers, should not be bread. It’s inhumane and their owners are frowned upon in the pigeon breeder community. I grew up around homing pigeons and remember feeling so sad when some idiot would bring tumblers to pigeon club. #cruelty

Are these the chads of the bird world? Do you think other birds get kind of tired of hearing about them doing this at social events? Is the flip this bird’s opening line when trying to get a date? So many questions
