Ophidiophobia... fear of snakes. I like snakes but not in my proximity.... hey snake, you stay way over there... don't freak me out. As kids our garter snakes were fierce and would chase us across the lawn.. jump up out of the tall fence grass at us etc. SNAKE!

We were frightened. I believe it caused me to fear going into natural waters. You see the Snake emerged from the river.

Yeah, that would be quite chilling. Was it a venomous snake ? I don't mind them if they aren't but I guess I don't want to swim with them either way
