How did the photographer get a dual focus like that, I wonder, assuming this is a single shot.

Split diopter lens filter. Basically it’s a piece of glass cut in half so only one side is magnified. You need a straight line in the image to cover the blur lines. Used in movies a lot. Often called a “deep focus” . Cool technique. I only found this out recently too
