Nope. I’m always up for complaining about the church but Mismanagement by an indifferent British government which didn’t care about Ireland or Irish people was the cause.Ireland was growing food and they were exporting it. Anti catholic land discrimination. Tenant farmers etc

Many countries in Europe had the blight those years including Catholic ones. Only in Ireland was it such a calamity. Because of the Uk government and it’s discriminatory policies in both the lead up and during the famine.

Very true. The more photos I see of Ireland, the more I want to visit. My sister and her husband visited.. it was a walk for MS type of thing (she has MS) her husband kept up with her, mostly.. he stopped at pubs along the way..
