I’m just wondering why is it so steep? Why not an easier path? Personally I’d chance the highway.

To prevent people from using it?

Also smaller footprint

Plus there are vehicles driving under it. Some trucks and vans are pretty tall. The shortest clearance I've seen is 14 feet (4.26 meters.)

How do the crabs know to go to the bridge? Like, is there a map? Maybe CROSS HERE signs written in crustacean or something? Hey Sebastian, where is everybody going? The crab bridge, Bob, obviously...pic.twitter.com/be5SZQNQ9W

I've seen a nature show on this. The crabs are herded using metal curbs that are set in place where their natural migration paths are. They follow the lane up and over the bridge. It's pretty cool.
