There's a large, unblinking eye at the bottom of the hole. A voice sings songs of ire and wrath in ancient Sumerian while a guiding hand pulls you closer.

Ancient Teotihuacan* sumerians didn't make it that far bruh.

Read the Book of Mormon. Everyone made it everywhere.

Anyone ever sent a camera down there?

-
I looked it up and it's been well mapped and eight people have died diving in it (none since 1984)
-
Just googled it. Amazing and scary.
-
Swam in it a few times, on the surface. Good cliff for jumping into the center.

Been here, it is fun to swim in but I'll admit that while looking down at it from the top I felt the call of the void

I guess if they ever give America an enema, Texas is where they’ll put the tube. (It’s a joke, I live in Texas, I love Texas, don’t kill me.)

As a diver I'm aware of various holes like this around the world, where divers meet their end, like an optical illusion, they don't realise how deep they have gone.
-
Not a depth problem. Third level chamber is low ceilinged and filled with silt. If silt is disturbed, water clouds, diver can’t see, and becomes fatally easy to lose way back to exit
-
Ah OK. I'm aware of another one like that and assumed this was the same. Thank you for the clarification. Have you been down it?
-
No, just surface swimming. Scuba diving was my wife’s passion, not mine

Does/did man pictured know that?
-
Probably. Stories are told every time we swim there. Danger is too scuba divers, not surface swimmers

That guy about to be the next one

-
Only if he carries lead weights. You have to really work to get deep

Sure
