So Luna Park was closed for some time due to a fire on one of the rides in the park killing a few people. One of the victims is the boy in this image standing next to this weird devil man. I think this photo was taken the day of the fire.pic.twitter.com/jsna3QDxeQ

When did this happen, approximately?

June 9th 1979. A fire that started in the ghost train. It killed six children and 1 adult. Another fun fact it was closed in 1988 after the rides were seemed in need of repair. Opened again 1995 for a short while but closed again due to noise pollution cause by the roller coaster
