In school, during that era, you were beaten by your teachers until you were right-handed, so there weren't many left-handed people to cater to.

Good point! Someone I know that went to catholic school and the nuns hit her hand with a ruler. Something about the devil? Idk, but I'm a lefty and I love it. It sucks that others had it beaten out of them.
