What fascinates me is if intentional, how could the moth's biology possibly know what a snake head looks like in order to mimic it from since birth?
If I remember correctly, that’s how Darwin’s evolution, natural selection works. Through the ages minor changes occur with each moth looking different. The ones that look more like a snake aren’t eaten but the ones that don’t quite look like a snake are.
It’s caterpillar form is equally impressivepic.twitter.com/Wr05ZHDNgH
A glowing moth? She must be obsessed with herself.
I mean it’s incredibly beautiful and all, just that, if I’m being honest there is about a 95 percent chance I would involuntarily swat at it and run like hell if it tried to come near me
I'm alerting the media that we've found Mothra.
Beautiful
Saw on of these sunning itself / resting on a trash bin outside when I was in college. A real impressive & beautiful creature
