We all have a masterpiece that we don't like. ;-) In my humble opinion, it's the greatest anime of all time. There is a before and an after "Akira". The animation and OST were just incredible for late 80's. All eyes turned on Japanimation after this.

I agree, as a student of animation there is no denying how fantastic this film is. I think my problem with the overall package might me the pacing. Something doesn't quite click with me, but to be completely honest I would have to watch it again to pinpoint it. It's been years

to be fair this movie condensed an 8 year long manga into a single movie, so there's gonna be problems with that
