        Serious question - anybody know what makes it so sticky? Is it hummingbird sticky spit or just very careful placement of twigs, fluff etc?

        Spider webbing which they steal from spiders to both secure the nest to ( usually a branch ) and interweave in nest for strength and flexiblity .
