I'm intrigued by the "Apparitio Tridis" in the second image. Looks like something that could really liven up a party.

the different birds represent the process of making the philosopher’s stone. the crow represents the first sign that your work is successful; when all your products, after being sealed in an alchemical egg (flask) and heated steadily, turn black as a crow.
-
then if you continue the process, the product will turn into a white powder, termed the white philosopher’s stone which can turn metals into silver and is represented by a swan. the last is the formation of the true philosopher’s stone, the red phoenix.
-
the peacock represents san intermediary step between black and white where there’s multiple changes in color. photos of alchemy are usually very vague and impossible to understand without the rest of the manuscript (as they intended)
-
also, although symbolism varies even in the same manuscript, the sun usually represents gold, and silver for the moon. they can also represent Alchemical Sulfur and Alchemical Mercury.

You should see the Harry Potter exhibit at the New York Historical Society. They have some really amazing old alchemical texts in it
