I am unaware sir couldve been straight opium or morphine though and it wouldnt surprise me. I still hear of moms using rum or tequila to rub the babys gums though

I'm pretty sure drugs were more expensive & harder to get back then, therefore the clientele were often more wealthy & of a higher class. This shows that even junkies back then had style & elegance. Once drugs became easier & cheaper to get, class went out & trash settled in.
-
Idk if I’d ever consider injecting morphine as classy lmao
-
It's not really classy, but even back then it might have been seen as the hip thing to do, especially for people who want a taste of the underground without being in it. You don't see that many wealthy junkies these days & the ones that exist now tend to be into more exotic stuff
-
You really have no concept of the attitude toward these types of substances people had back then. In those days, it was commonplace to use cocaine, morphine, heroin, codeine, cannabis, etc. for all sorts of medical ailments. It wasn't considered "underground".
-
So there was a time when all of the supposed worst drugs were legal and actually sold as medicine to people? Hard to believe considering how history always made them seem like they were forbidden from the very beginning. Thank you for telling me.
-
Coca Cola used to have cocaine in it! Lol
-
I actually heard about that before. I also heard almost all soft drinks have some sugary substance that acts like a drug. Sugar itself is a drug. Coffee with sugar in it acts like a drug. And since I drink it that way everyday, you can say I'm wasted half the time.
-
Coffee without sugar is a drug, since caffeine is a drug. In fact, it's a highly addictive drug and is the most widely used drug around. Yes, sugar is a drug, and it's highly addictive. Nicotine is a highly addictive drug. (see next)
