Any runner-ups

So Lecter and Bates were archetypes (even though they were based on real serial killers) and did not make the list.
-
Bates loved his mum, Lecter had affection for agent Starling. Anton felt nothing for anyone.

The movie paints him having more affection with Sterling than the book which seemed more transactional and entertainment 4 himself, if we’re going by the book Lecter wins easily I think that being said congrats to JB it’s a compliment to say he played a psycho as well as AH

It's your lucky quarter! The combination of humor and threat in this scene is perfection.

But i think we all forgot the only person who defeated Antonpic.twitter.com/xnrQyL8OLm

Oh, right! Very good point! With that butt-wiggle of obstinance with which this actress delivered her lines. Great stare-down!

Ah! Amazing film

-
It really is. Saw it when I was 14 thanks to weird late night tv programming in the UK in the 90s. Forever grateful.
