I like this one alot. It gives me the feeling of Dark Souls, the whole cursed world theme. The moon adds to a sense of mystery and seems like a "witness" or spotlight to the discovery of something strange and unknown that seems peculiar, giving the moon another role as creepy.pic.twitter.com/Oz7zM03kA8

The guard seems to also be in awe and yet slightly uncomfortable based on his stance with his hand resting near his hilt of the sword. Is it tree branches, or something more? He has entered a moment of bewilderment.

We didn't see that painting, but when my wife and I went to Ottawa a few years back, they had a Dore exhibit at the museum. Was probably my favourite part of the trip. The man was an artistic genius and could paint so many different ways!
