A spiral staircase in the middle of some mountains. Who's the nut who came up with this idea? Where does it even go? Or is it supposed to make climbing the mountains much easier? I really don't understand why this exists.

Maybe connects a remote village in the region by a more direct route?

Why connect to a remote village for? Are they going to offer shelter to the climbers? Was that part of the deal for the staircase? It still sounds very strange to me.

Kind of like bungee jumping with an air mattress. They want to experience the highs and adventure of climbing without enduring any of its danger or risks.
