    When threatened, Fulmar chicks vomit out a sticky orange oil at the predator. The oil glues the predator's feathers together so it cannot fly. When the predator goes to wash the oil off in the ocean, it finds it has lost its buoyancy and drownspic.twitter.com/DgUANW6r8q

        Wow... it’s almost like unnaturally orange things are potently toxic... 😏. All jokes aside, I really want to know the evolutionary pathway by which this became a defense mechanism for Fulmar chicks. Fascinating stuff 41Strange, as always.

        I encountered these in Shetland. The task leader was attracted to the fluffy chicks and they vomited on him. He couldn't get the smell off his clothes. Literally had to burn them!
