I wrote to Alvin Schwartz, the author of these books, as a kid for a class project. I got a very nice letter back from his wife informing me that Alvin was in fact dead. Best “Scary Story” of the bunch!

DEFINITELY for kids LOL Dude I remember books I had as a kid and ones I would check out from the library........... content for kids was at a whole other level than it is nowadays..... monsters, ghosts, demons, legends, all kinds of AWESOMELY SCARY stuff... I miss those books.

I do and i don’t. There was this one book that scarred me for life. It made me stay awake for numerous nights. (I was pretty young) It was ’The Usborne Book of the Haunted World’. I blame my school for have this book. Even force my classmate to hide this book from me.pic.twitter.com/FEM1oJQUJG
