Not to bum everyone out but this type of hummingbird hunts baby weasels. It has thorned nodules on its back that secrete a paralytic venom. This baby is being flown to her nest where her children will feed on the paralyzed weasel pup.

Also It’s a Flesh burrowing hummingbird not a woodpecker.

Weasels are fierce predators. My thought is that woodpecker is a meal in the process of getting away.
