The colorful "King Vulture" can be found in Central and South America. The King Vulture has one of the most powerful beaks of all American vultures and can open carcasses that other vultures cannot. For this reason, they often eat first and other vultures feed off the remainspic.twitter.com/mnUqvySRY5

It’s the King Vulture that really should be the national bird of the United States. Powerful beaks. Will open carcasses other vultures can not. They eat first. Other vultures feed off the remains. The bald eagle was a poor choice. Weak. Only feeding on dead fish. .

It’s interesting, I’m used to vultures being kind of dark and foreboding or just sorta ugly (except the Beatles ones from Disney’s Jungle Book cartoon). This is like seeing a turtle with gorgeous neon red and green markings. Omg please tell me such a turtle exists 41 Strange!!!
