I think we become monster or ghosts by how we are treated by others.

There have always been ghosts in the machine. Random segments of code, that have grouped together to form unexpected protocols. Unanticipated, these free radicals engender questions of free will, creativity, and even the nature of what we might call the soul. Dr. Lanning: Irobotpic.twitter.com/fzR2GjvqcI

"Like that FUCKING VAN THAT NEARLY HIT ME! FUCK THAT GUY, GOING TO PUT HIM IN MY NEXT STORY." - Stephen King. His obsession with a van driver is pretty intense.
-
Well it actually hit him....
-
All the more reason to talk about it in 5+ books, purchase said van and bang on about it endlessly. That said, he is the type of author to do weird self-inserts for very little reason.
-
Very little reason? He almost died. Yeaa, it's weird (and kinda an ass move) to put it all into a book after five years, but I can understand.
-
A book? He kept making reference over and over in a good few books, and even bought the van. Past a particular point it's King coming off as a magnificently huge arse.
-
Yes references, but he doesn't say: "This the man! Hate him!" King only mentioned the accident and Smith in The Dark Tower (here King is an ass) and On Writing (which has an autobiographical part).
