        My husband literally won't allow me to watch that movie again. I was wrecked for a while, and after the second watch he was like "no, never again." It's an amazing movie though.

        I recall hearing that the story wasn't anti-war, but anti-pdide. If the main character had went back to his aunt and asked for help she'd have helped them. But his pride refused to let him. Like Japan could have surrendered but it's pride kept them in an unwinnable war. 1/2
