YouTubers have experimented with adding motion blur to Harryhausen sequences. When done well, it GREATLY enhances the scenes. It works even better with Jim Danforth sequences. JD created more pleasing motion arcs than RH (but with less dynamic characters)https://youtu.be/fmr0bqID-7c

I didn't even know we can do that. It hits the sweet spot of enhancing the image just enough for it not to feel intrusive. Too bad studios are not going to do this when release future versions of these classics.

I love Harryhausen

-
Me too. I love that he and Ray Bradbury(my ultimate favourite author) were good friends
-
I didn't know that!
-
Or was it you didn't know Ray Bradbury is my ultimate favourite author?

-
Neither : )

Ray Harryhausen, the Legend. Lifelong friend of Ray Bradbury, another all-timer.
-
I once went to a Bradbury lecture where he spoke fondly of his friendship with Harryhausen...they did their work in the garage!

Ray Harryhousen was the puppet master for every single nightmare I had as a child and he still became one of my favourite figures in the film industry because I know that my childhood imagination was massively enriched by his creations. Stop motion is still terrifying, mind
