We all know these trees are portals to Hell. Don’t lie to us.

There was a tree at my childhood home that was stuck by lightning and it split clean in half and is still thriving. Unfortunately the previous owners had a dog tied to the tree when it happened

I've seen the bark blown off trees before but never a tree on fire. Very cool! Unless you're the tree.

Oooh! That explains that tree close to my house that seemed burned just at the base and not beyond. Today I learned something new. Also, word of advice: branches can fall off and crush you.

Anyone who encounters one of these would be very smart to back far away from the tree as quickly as possible. It could fall, break or in rare circumstances explode at any moment. No joke.
