Here in the UK they stand outside corner shops and ask you to buy cigarettes for them.

I live near an elementary school, so springing this on me is *not cool.*
-
My bf lives next to a big graveyard. In Scandinavia. I'd be glad to live close to an elementary school if I were you LMAO
-
I’d much prefer the Nordic graveyard. I live next to a fancy elementary school and the unholy screams coming from that playground permeate my apartment and haunt my dreams
-
What if you hear the Mylings screaming and playing in the graveyard though?
-
Well it’s not like their parents will get mad if I tell them to shut up so I’ll take it

Ghost children are infinitely more terrifying than adult ghosts.

Wait, why don't they demand to be taken to the river to be baptised?
-
Or McDonalds for a happy meal like any other kid

In most definitions it's the ghost of a child killed by the *mother* before it was given a name. Often they would be buried under a building and sing songs in the night about what was done to them. In some stories the way to get rid of it was to name them instead of bury them.

What if you could bargain with them? Like, no I’d rather take you home and adopt you. What then? Are they really going to say no?
-
If it demands to be given a name you offer them yours, or find the body and bury it properly since they were murdered by the parents and buried in secret. Pretty dark stuff tbh.

*Unbaptized children that were murdered by the parents.
-
The parent in question where often unwed mothers who would rather kill their illegitimate offspring rather than face the social stigma of having a child out of wedlock.
-
How sad
!Thank you very much for your explanation! -
Indeed it is. When viewed from a certain perspective it's probable that the myling and stories related to it were conceived as cautionary tales meant warn against the consequences female promiscuity.
-
Si many dark secrets around unwed mothers. I live in Queretaro, México, where the Spanish conquest was full of religious convents. The city is full of tunnels where nuns and priests had relationships. Some say there are skeletons of mothers and their babies, that were hiding.
