The interesting thing about this is this thing wouldn't have existed before the advent of plumbing. They literally had to invent this after the invention of toilets.

I mean, toilets have been around for a good long while. It's only the modern plumbing iteration that's relatively new. Seats with holes in them that drop waste somewhere where you don't have to think about it have been around since ancient times.
