Think how cool that would be: it’s all foggy out when suddenly you find a floating sword under an overpass, not moving a single inch. Who would be brave enough to grab a floating sword?

Well I'd certainly be dumb enough to grab the sword.

As soon as my hand grasps the hilt, it is likely that a bolt of lightning will course through, sending me to the netherworlds where I am forced to live that fated day on repeat for all eternity, for I am not the chosen one.

That sounds like a Re:Zero reference. Is that a Re:Zero reference? I was imagining an Army of Darkness scenario where I’m sent back in time with the sword and mah boomstick

Ah so you become the reluctant chosen one, like Ash, in this scenario? Haven't seen Re:Zero yet. Simply created a hellscape derived from an amalgam of fantasy/science fiction tropes.

More like the dumbass who messes everything up yet somehow makes up for it in the end through complete audacity
