Was this used in The Devil's Advocate?
That was a different sculpture by contemporary artist Frederick Hart who sued Warner Brothers because he felt they used it improperly. The case was settled out of court. However, this sculpture does appear in the animated series "Fullmetal Alchemist" as "The Door of Truth."
Oh, okay. IIRC, the sculpture in the movie was a much lighter marble. I just remembered that there was some controversy about its use in the movie.
Hart created it as a depiction of the creation and was very upset when they turned it "demonic" by having the angels engage in an orgy.
Understandable.
as per usual, Hell is portrayed as a particularly successful rave
