        The hand he designed was so advanced for the time it could hold drinks and playing cards. And he was so badass he lived to retire to a castle on his savings at the age of 63.

        Also, as the store goes, a cannonball pushed his own sword through his arm, and that's how he lost it, which leads me to believe he tried to deflect a cannonball with his sword and was only *partially* successful.
