        First two is Namahage. Adults dress up as them and goes around town visiting people's houses chanting "Are there any bad children?". The whole purpose of them is to traumatize children.

        I saw a documentary about these very guys where they herded a policeman into a large wicker structure before settling fire to it. Except it was in Scotland. And the policeman was Edward Woodwood. Other than that exactly the same.
