In Japanese folklore, Noppera-bō are ghosts that look like humans but have no faces. They terrorize victims by appearing as someone familiar and then suddenly cause their features to vanish into a smooth plane of skin

There was apparently one of these in the girls bathroom at the drive in theater by my house when I was a kid. The theater was conveniently next to an old graveyard. My mom said she saw a woman combing her hair in the bathroom in a kimono and ran out.
