Did you watch the full video? Or did you see the clip where it cuts off shortly after him saying “there, I said it”?

As an emotional response, I would feel angry, but I don’t like just lashing out with just a snippet. I understood the context, I don’t agree with how he said it, but he said it, so all I can do is disagree with the words he used.

Except given the context, you can tell that’s not what he was aiming for. The context can be summed up as, we trained and armed our enemies, of course it was going to happen, it was stupid to do something that stupid and when you play stupid games you win stupid prizes

That literally adds nothing to this discussion. We already established, he used poor phrasing. The issue surrounds the intent. When you watch the full video, the intent was more about smearing the military failures of the Middle East that led to the attack than it was America

I didn’t use the word “just”, I know we didn’t agree it was JUST poor phrasing, but we both know it was poor. That’s why I mentioned the intent, which your reply goes over some more

Doug, the moral of this story is that dpretzel and others NEED their assessment to be the right one. They know deep down Hasan doesn't support Al Qaeda they just have to make sure to type it everyday and 100% invalidate his clarifications the other night. The Anatomy of a Smear.
