My main problem with this is with the uncritical treatment the SFPD’s self-reporting. In the year 2020, in SF, do you think the PD was completely unaware of the need for self-justification? If you were a 35th century historian, would you rely on those numbers?

Not necessarily. If there is a legitimate reason to doubt the numbers I will. But if anything it seems like crimes are underreported
