I just wanna build so many railways

Every time I hear some place referenced in the news, or brought up in convo with friends, etc, I do the same. Syrian War updates make me think about railways in Syria, vacationing in Costa Rica makes me think about railways in Costa Rica, etc...

I can make sketches and proposals for anywhere--but for more involved proposals I have to constrain myself to New England, and even there I get carried away!

what's the scoop on african railways alex
-
Many African countries don't have railways at all; those that do mostly inherited them from colonial days, and can only get marginal use out of them because of their routes & condition. North Africa and South Africa have the most developed networks that I'm aware of.
-
I know they're a right mess of gauges. Do you think african people would benefit from a widespread rail project?
-
I think the international scale of an Africa-wide project would be a logistical nightmare to pull off, but many smaller projects focusing on particular cities and countries would be helpful, and are currently being undertaken
