its getting there thats expensive, also i think most restaurants are, especially in touristy areas

ya if you're in Tokyo looking for the 5-star experience it'll cost a fortune (and ya getting all the way to Japan is...not fun), the great thing about Tokyo tho is that the cheap options are also awesome

Gay men in Tokyo use the 24-hour gay baths as cheap alternative to a hotel room. Admission is ¥2,500 ($23) for dormitory+communal bath. Snoring included. Cheaper than capsule hotels, usually in the 3,000/3,500 range.
